“History of the Universe” by Professor Françoise Combes

October 16 2025, Professor Françoise Combes, Emeritus Professor at the Collège de France, President of the French Academy of Sciences, gave a conference on the “History of the Universe” in the City University of Hong Kong as part of the ''France Hong-Kong Distinguished Lectures Series''.

This conference brought together an impressive gathering of experts, scholars, and enthusiasts from across the academic community. The discussions explored the vast timeline of cosmic evolution, sparking lively exchange and new perspectives. The esteemed Consul General of France in Hong Kong & Macau, Mrs. Christile Drulhe, also attended and delivered an concise speech in this conference.

Under the auspices of the French Academy of Sciences, the Consulate General of France in Hong Kong and Macau, and The Légion d’Honneur Club Hong Kong Chapter, the France-Hong Kong Distinguished Lectures organised by CityUHK have come to the 20th anniversary this year. Today these lectures are still passed down, aiming to promote the French Academy of Sciences and more generally the French scientific community among the scientific community in Hong Kong.
