Publié le 13 octobre 2025

October 13, 2025, the Légion d'Honneur Club Hong Kong Chapter hosted a special dinner reception to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the France-Hong Kong Distinguished Lectures Series we have proudly sponsored at the City University of Hong Kong. Over the past two decades, these seminars have brought together renowned scientists from across the globe to share groundbreaking research and inspire academic excellence.

Initiated by Professor Philippe Ciarlet at 2005, these high-profile conferences are organized by the City University of Hong Kong and by the Hong Kong Institute for Advanced Study under the auspices of the Paris Academy of Sciences and under the aegis of the Collège de France, the Légion d'Honneur Club Hong Kong Chapter, and the Consulate General of France in Hong Kong & Macau. After being interrupted from 2019 due to the pandemic, the lectures were resumed by the end of 2023.

The anniversary dinner was started by speeches from Mr. Gérard Gabriel Léon Millet, Professor Philippe Ciarlet alongside Mrs. Christile Drulhe, the Consul General of France in Hong Kong & Macau. Attended by overseas scientists who had delivered lectures in past years, the anniversary dinner was a joyful and meaningful occasion. The atmosphere was warm and collegial, filled with lively conversations, cherished memories, and deep appreciation for the contributions of all involved. It was both a celebration of past achievements and a reaffirmation of our commitment to supporting the pursuit of scientific knowledge in the years ahead.
