The Hong Kong Chapter Donates $136,500 for Summer French Courses in 2023

The most anticipated event on The Legion d’Honneur Club-Hong Kong Chapter calendar is finally here, and we are delighted to continue contributing to jointly running of the annual Summer French Language Course Scholarships with the Consulate General of France. The Hong Kong Chapter has granted a value of HKD$ 136,500 to our scholarship 2023 programme. This year, the Ceremony was held at the French Residence on 6 December to recognise students’ outstanding performance.

The Deputy Consul General, Mr. Marc Lamy and the General Secretary of The Legion d’Honneur Club-Hong Kong Chapter,  Mr. Gérard Millet and other guests attended the Ceremony to celebrate the remarkable achievements of the awardees.

This year, 44 students from 5 Hong Kong universities, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, The University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong Baptist University, The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and UOW College Hong Kong had the chance to study French for 4 weeks in France.

The Deputy Consul General Mr. Marc Lamy expressed his heartfelt gratitude to The Hong Kong Chapter and the higher educational institutes in Hong Kong for their support to the scholarship programme.

Mr. Gérard Millet was delighted to see the student’s continuous efforts in studying French and encouraged them to strive for excellence in their learning journey. Mr. Lamy and Mr. Millet congratulated the awardees and presented them with a diploma during a ceremony.

The Hong Kong Chapter is proud of its long-term contribution to the education and development of the young generation in Hong Kong, and hopes to inspire them to pursue learning French. We highly value strengthening the cultural and diplomatic ties between France and Hong Kong, and share the richness and diversity of the French language and culture.
