Charity Dinner

Groupe "ASHK - HONG KONG"

“The French May Arts Festival” has become an annual signature event in Hong Kong and is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year. With a diverse array of French-themed activities throughout the month of May featuring exhibitions, art performances, and, thanks to the French Gourmay event, also wine and delicacies, Hong Kong people are able to experience the French culture and lifestyle. This year, Mr. Guillaume Gomez, Personal Representative of the French President for Gastronomy, is visiting Hong Kong, to embody this lifestyle and to promote French art de vivre. Mr. Henry Tang, our President of Légion d'Honneur Club Hong Kong Chapter Association; organised a charity dinner in collaboration with Mrs. Christile Drulhe, Consul General of France in Hong Kong and Macau on 16 May. The event has invited Mr. Gomez as a special guest to foster French culture and to benefit the underprivileged in Hong Kong.

Mr. Gomez, who joined the Elysée Palace in 1997, is an award-winning master chef who has cooked for four French presidents in the past 25 years, including Jacques Chirac, Nicolas Sarkozy, François Hollande, and Emmanuel Macron. Since 2013, Mr. Gomez has been Chef de Cuisine at the Elysée Palace, serving Mr. Hollande and Mr. Macron. In 2021, Mr. Gomez was appointed by President Macron as his Personal Representative of the French President for Gastronomy..

Under the theme of "Flavours from the Elysée Palace", the charity dinner is held at a private French restaurant in Central, with Mr. Gomez giving advice to each dish to provide guests with a taste of French culture and cuisine. Honourable guests could enjoy the same exquisite flavours as if they were in the palace in person.

The charity dinner successfully raised a total of HK$100,000 for PathFinder to ensure the most vulnerable and unsupported children and their migrant mothers in Hong Kong are protected and respected.
